The influence of the four-day work week on technology companies in Brazil

Abstract

The monograph in question has as main objective to analyze the influence of the week with four days of work in the quality of life of the workers and in the increase of the productivity of

technology companies in Brazil, in order to reduce the index of stress and occupational diseases. In view of this, the objectives of the study were achieved because the companies that reduced the weekly workload obtained an increase in productivity, in addition to identifying a lighter work environment and more health in the entire corporate environment. The construction of this study occurred after a bibliographic review of qualitative literature for adequate theoretical basis on the subject. After the implementation of the model, the studied Brazilian companies presented satisfactory results, as it was noticed an increase in productivity and more satisfaction of the workers in carrying out routine activities. It covered everything from results such as a 120% increase in revenues in just five months, benefits such as culture vouchers and free streaming subscriptions for workers, to cases in which they had a little more difficulty in reorganizing their personal and professional lives.
